Course Description

Digital Design Fundamentals (computer-aided design, engineering simulation and manufacturing)

Developed for individuals considering career opportunities in computer-aided design (CAD) and industry professionals looking to learn about and develop skills in Solid Edge. This course covers the fundamentals of digital design in product design, engineering and production.

Three-week course held twice a week for 3 hours

What you will learn about:
•2D sketches & layouts
•Creating 3D part modeling
•Engineering drawings for 3D models
•Basic rendering of 3D models
•Assembly design
•Computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulation
•Overview of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and how to set up a design for production
•How to create and set-up a 3D model for 3D printing
•Understand the fundamentals of digital design (CAD, CAE & CAM) and how it applies to industry
•Learn the basics of CAD and CAE and how to operate these tools
•Explore the career opportunities available to you in this field

Classes will be held at The Digital Foundry - 855 5th Avenue New Kensington, PA 15068 on the following dates and times:
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 – 6:30 pm starting May 7 and finishing May 23, 2024
