Course Description


Basic life support for healthcare providers    the bls for healthcare providers course incorporates the entire body of information and skills presented in the adult heart saver and pals programs (modules 1 and 2).  It also includes two-rescuer cpr (module 3) and barrier devises (module 4).  It is highly recommended that health care providers be trained in the use of an aed (module 5). Final authorization to perform defibrillation, however, is a function of local legislative health authorities it is anticipated in the future aed training will be required skill for bls for healthcare providers course.  Written & practical eval are required.

HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace. Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode BLS and then complete a hands-on skills session at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus at a pre-determined. Access to the BLS Provider Manual eBook (20-3102) is included with HeartCode BLS. You will be able to access the Provider Manual from within the course. This product has been updated with new science from the 2020 Guidelines for CPR and ECC and replaces the previous version (15-3254)
