Course Description

Diversity Circles are small group discussions about important public issues.  These discussions are based on building interpersonal relationships between people different from ourselves in our community. Understanding our differences (race, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, religion, gender, age, etc.) helps to strengthen our society. We seek for all of us to be enlightened, enlighten others, and be an advocate in our community to overcome barriers to our collective personal and economic success.  Come join the conversation to help us achieve these goals.

The group meets once a week over five weeks for two hours. No one leads a diversity circle, but rather there are facilitators who keep the discussion focused.

Diversity Circles is an “ALL IN” Pennsylvania State University Initiative. For the success of the circle, we see registration as a commitment and your attendance is vital for all five sessions.  From Dialogue to Action to Change: Exploration, not agreement, is the objective.
