Course Description

Summer STEM programming that will provide learning for students in digital technologies for design, engineering, smart manufacturing, and data science.  Students will be introduced to computer-aided design, engineering and manufacturing, additive manufacturing (3D printing), industrial robotics, automation, data in manufacturing, and simulation of processes.  Interactive learning and engaging projects that help students explore what design and manufacturing is all about in the 21st century.

Age Group: 8th graders going into 9th grade in the fall to 12th grade.

Dates: due to the large number of students that have shown interest in attending, we will be holding two separate sessions.
           - Cohort 1: Tue 7/30 to Thu 8/1
           - Cohort 2: Tue 8/6 to Thu 8/8
           Please select one or the other session that works best for your schedule

Times: camp starts at 9am and ends at 3pm each day

Meals: Lunch will be provided each day as well as an afternoon snack.

Cell phone policy:
  • We have a no cell phone policy. Students will be required to surrender their cell phones at the beginning of each camp day when they arrive.
  • Cell phones will be safely kept in a storage container until the end of each class.
  • Students will be given access to their cell phones if it is part of an activity and in case they need to contact a parent or guardian (emergency or to be picked up early)

Dress code: The following item are NOT allowed on Digital Foundry premises.
  • Tank tops, open toed shoes, or sandals, hats, sunglasses, low hung pants, short shorts (> than 5” above the knee), controversial/offensive tee shirts or messaging, hoodies, very loose-fitting clothing and necklaces.
  • Attendees will be working with equipment where loose fitting apparel and jewelry are a safety hazard.

Certificate: Upon completion of the camp students will receive a certificate of completion and micro-credential from the Digital Foundry
