Fall 2017 Educational Film & Discussion Series (Movie Series) Greatness is Forever

September 28: Raging Bull (1980/PG)
An Academy Award©-winning story details the often self-destructive life of a boxer whose background propels him to stardom in the ring but destruction in his personal life.

October 5: Something For Joey (1977/Unrated)
The real-life story of the bond between Penn State football player, John Cappelletti and his younger brother, Joey, who has leukemia.

October 12: Miracle (2004/PG)
Men’s Olympic Hockey becomes the story around the determination and persistence of a team that carried us to victory over the Russians in 1980.

October 19: Field of Dreams (1989/PG)
America’s favorite pastime is the focal point of this baseball fantasy film chronicling one persistent Iowa corn farmer’s love of the game.

October 26: Hoosiers (1986/PG)
Based on the true story of an Indiana high school team, this classic is the story of a team led by a coach with a dubious background and his efforts to lead them to victory.

Location: R/C Movies 14, 24 E Northampton Street Wilkes-Barre, PA. 
Each movie/discussion begins at 7:00 PM.

Participants earn continuing education credits upon completion.  You must attend at least 4 of the 5 movies to receive the continuing education credits.  If you have questions about the program, contact us at 570-675-9253 or email wbce@outreach.psu.edu. 

Cancellations must be received by September 21st or the student will be responsible for the fee.
