Course Description

Use of Force Review combines lecture with individual and team building exercises related to use of force situations encountered by police officers during their law enforcement duties. The course discusses the paramets of employing use of force from the perspective of US supreme court rulings in Graham vs Connor and Tennessee vs Garner. As such, the course covers the following topics: legal issues as cited by Graham v Connor; force factors; objective reasonableness; legal issues as cited by Tennessee v garner; deadly force; mental conditioning; and interactive video scenarios.
