Course Description

Students will learn PLC fundamentals involved with PLC programming, hardware and setup. Students will receive both theory and hands on instruction with an emphasis on hands wiring, power supplies,  and how to understand and  trouble-shoot PLC’s from the “outside” with a computer.  Also PLC types, I/O types, and on programming and device interface and communication will be covered.

Advanced PLC is the eighth of eight courses in the Advanced Process Automation certificate program through the Pennsylvania State University College of Engineering.  The program runs from August 2025 through April 2026.

Dates:  Tuesday & Thursday from 4:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Location:  Penn State Hazleton, Laurel Building Room 101
Included in cost are books and materials.  Students will receive books the first day of class.
