Course Description

A police officer's written report, on the results of or the findings in an assignment, is an essential part of his or her job.  Not withstanding the type of incident, assignment or investigation, writing the report is the final step.  Therefore, in order to do a good job in handling an assignment, the officer must be able to prepare an adequate report. Good report writing is essential to good performance in any profession.  While the particulars differ from a law enforcement report to one in private industry or business, the basic cross over. In order for a police report to be effective it must be accurate, complete, succinct and fair.
