Participants will understand their role in policing in today¿s society.
Through group discussion, participants will rethink the ¿why¿ of police work, and gain an understanding of the expectations of the community they serve.
Participants will gain an understanding of the steps of ethical decision making and its impact of effective policing.
Participants will gain an understanding of how negative police behavior impacts successful policing.
MODULE 3 Effecting Conduct Change to Improve Staff Performance
Learning Objectives
Participants will understand the role Performance Management plays in improving performance and reducing the incidence of misconduct.
Participants will understand how early intervention in behavioral issues can prevent future misconduct.
Through a discussion of Early Warning Systems, participants will be able to apply these principles to address patterns of negative behavior.
Participants will understand ¿active Bystandership¿ and the EPIC training program for officer intervention.
Participants will understand the importance of progressive discipline to ensure levels of misconduct are addressed fairly and appropriately.
MODULE 4 Finding Common Ground: Building Effective Relationships between Police Unions and Management in Conduct Matters
