Course Description

Lesson 1: Introduction to Systems and the Design Process
Objectives:
- Present Systems concepts and introduce the System Design Process.
 
Lesson 2: Design and Testing
Objectives:
- Show the progression from concept to design in a project of any magnitude.
- Show the importance of maintaining a system documentation baseline and establishing a disciplined change control process.
- Introduce the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) as a vital part of project planning especially as it relates to change control
 
Lesson 3: Evaluating Design Alternatives
Objectives:
- Begin our presentation of Systems Analysis and Design Evaluation topics.
- Discuss the use of Alternatives and Models in Decision Making.
- Introduce economic optimization.
 
Lesson 4: Systems Engineering Management & Program Control
Objectives:
- Present System Management topics.
- Discuss Systems Engineering Planning and organization.
 
Lesson 5: Reliability and Usability
Objectives:
- Introduce Designing for Operational Feasibility.
- Show the importance of designing and measuring reliability factors so that specified uptimes can be assured.
 
Lesson 6: Maintainability and Supportability
Objectives:
- Continue with Designing for Operational Feasibility.
- Stress the importance of a good plan for maintainability and supportability for a project.
