Course Description

The Career Management II course is part of a two course Career Studies Post-Certificate program that assists students to further engage in career development, gain work experience, and search for and accept paid employment. Career management is conscious planning of one's activities and engagements in the jobs one undertakes in the course of their life for better fulfilment, growth and financial stability. Students will evaluate their activities in the Career Management I course and adjust their career Development plan as needed. It is a sequential process that starts from an understanding of oneself and encompasses occupational awareness. Successful completion of the Career Studies noncredit certificate (CARSTD_NCT) is a requirement/pre-requisite for enrollment. Students also need to demonstrate a strong interest in academic enrichment and career development. Students will also identify and study in a professional development focus that supports their career goals. Course instructors and Faculty work with the student on an individual basis to complete the course requirements such as selecting courses, identifying work sites, and professional development opportunities. Student progress is supported by instructors, faculty, and peer mentors.
