Course Description

Middle school teachers at Camp Curtin Academy in the Harrisburg, PA School District will participate in an online training to prepare them to co-teach the BaSICS (Building a Strong Identity and Coping Skills) curriculum.  BaSICS is a strength-based coping and empowerment intervention program for children growing up in under-resourced communities.  The training provides teachers with a theoretical knowledge of the effects of Poverty Related Stress and trauma on children and the practical tools to co-teach the curriculum with a clinically trained interventionist from our team.  We adopt a "train the trainer" model so that teachers who have completed the training and co-caught the curriculum will be ready to train the next cohort of BaSICS teachers at the school.
