Course Description

The College Readiness camp is a place for high school students to explore their options for life after high school graduation and prepare to take the next steps into the real world! Students will begin by taking various surveys to determine potential careers based on interests and personality strengths. Students will then research post-secondary educational institutions (i.e. four-year universities, two-year colleges, certification programs, vocational technical schools) and determine which option is best for them. Additionally, students will begin a working resume that can be used to apply for colleges and jobs in the future, and learn how to best write a college essay among other activities. We will also explore key skills such as communication with professors, managing your time, credit card caution, stress management, and healthy habits.
