Course Description

This training explains the ways paternity is judicially established and related legal concepts. By the end of this training, participants will be able to (1) describe the judicial paternity establishment process; (2) list the six ways to establish paternity judicially; (3) review the presumption of paternity doctrine; (4) explain the concept of paternity by estoppel; and (5) discuss the legal concept of res judicata in paternity actions; and (6) outline the difference between paternity and in loco parentis. Training will be assessed through participation in self-assessment.
