Course Description

Anybody can fly a drone. However, flying a drone for commercial purposes requires licensing under the FAA Part 107 regulations. And what are commercial purposes? Any activity that contributes to a business interest-and you don't have to get paid for it! Assuming that you are at least 16 years old, and are considering flying a drone for more than just fun, you will want to earn a remote pilot airman certificate with a small Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) rating.

Participants will prepare for the FAA Part 107 exam for remote pilots. At the completion of the course, participants will have acquired the aeronautical knowledge necessary to pass the FAA aeronautical knowledge test that is a requirement for flying drones commercially. Course includes theory aligned with FAA Airmen Certification Standards (ACS) including Regulations, the National Airspace System, Weather and Operations of small unmanned aircraft systems in the National Airspace system.
You will learn about safety, airworthiness, weather, and maintaining the vital communications link between the control station and the UAS. You will also learn about privacy guidelines that the FAA has put in place for all airmen. Additionally, you will learn about FAA inspections and testing and the reporting procedures governing injury and property damage - facts of life that must be considered despite every attempt at avoidance.

If you want to be a remote pilot, and any of these issues have ever crossed your mind, then the Penn State Drone Pilot FAA Part 107 Exam Prep course is just what you're looking for. Consider taking this important step that will license you as a certified participant in this burgeoning industry and provide you with the knowledge and personal satisfaction that you're a member of this elite team.
