Course Description

Change is an inevitable part of the work environment. It is important for leaders to know how to manage change efforts. In this course, participants will learn to portray change as an opportunity rather than a problem, to involve others in the planning and implementation of change and to overcome resistance to change, among other things. Anyone who has to lead a change effort will benefit from this training. By the end of this training, participants will be able to: (1) Demonstrate how to view change as an opportunity; (2) Successfully lead a change effort; (3) Communicate details of an upcoming change; (4) Involve others in planning and executing change; (5) Determine why people resist change; (6) Consider resilience when introducing change; and (7) Connect change efforts to positive performance outcomes. Training will be assessed through active participation in the course.
