Course Description

Scottish Highland dance is a traditional form of dance reflecting the history and culture of Scotland. This athletic dance form develops strength, stamina, and flexibility. Students will be introduced to the Sword Dance and Highland Fling as well as social dances. An energetic class fueled by bagpipe music to bring out the Celtic spirit of dance in everyone!

Scottish Highland Dance Adult Class will be held on Wednesdays, January 10, 17, 24, 31, February 7 and 14, 2024  from 6:15-7:15 pm, in room 148 of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts on the Penn State Altoona Campus. Dancers should wear shorts or leggings with a t-shirt or tank top, socks or bare feet, long hair pulled back (No jeans or jean shorts). Students may bring a water bottle.
