Course Description

This course will be taught as to prepare nontechnical individuals in the basics of rapid prototyping by utilizing common computer aided design (CAD) techniques as well as prototype manufacturing techniques. The curriculum will provide participants with the tools and understanding necessary to materialize ideas into physical products via additive manufacturing which is commonly referred to as "3d printing." Upon completion of this course, students will be able to take an idea, analyze the potential to use CAD and 3d printing to produce a desired component, and ultimately fabricate functional prototypes.
