Course Description

This course covers topics including psychological trauma and sex trafficking. It bridges descriptive diagnostic criteria between DSM IV and DSM V, and explores theoretical explanations behind trauma and its purpose. Manifestations of unresolved trauma, comorbid phenomena, and interventions are also explored. The methods of control and operations used by sex traffickers, the resulting behavior patterns encountered in trafficking survivors, and clinical implications are discussed. Comprehensive and intensive case management is presented as a model of intervention.
