Course Description

Do you enjoy creating, inventing and learning? Then Penn State Abington’s summer makerspace camp is just for you. In this camp students will have the opportunity learn what a makerspace is and to put their creative and inventive minds to use as we unlock the power of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) in modern learning modules that will engage campers and inspire creative problem solving. This camp will focus on hands-on, project-based activities that students will participate in, along with various team-based challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Students will explore the following STEAM topics and sample projects: Engineering and Technology using Makey Makey kits, Science and Engineering through various chemical reactions, Technology and Art using music cropping and mixing, and Engineering and Art using Legos and various household items.
