Course Description

Our community enrichment cinema course continues in Spring 2024. Participants will watch and discuss four films around the topic of media, manipulation, and the demise of public discourse. Each class session will include a lecture followed by a film screening. Afterward, audience members will be able to engage in conversation about the events featured, the ways directors presented the subjects, and cinematic techniques used that may answer some questions while raising others.

January 22 - Snowden

February 26 - The Help

March 25 - Pretty Woman

April 15 - The Great Beauty (La grande bellezza)

All films will begin at 6:00pm in the Morgan Auditorium at Penn State Schuylkill’s Student Community Center. The cost is $30 for community members.
