Course Description

Basic life support for healthcare providers    the bls for healthcare providers course incorporates the entire body of information and skills presented in the adult heart saver and pals programs (modules 1 and 2).  It also includes two-rescuer cpr (module 3) and barrier devises (module 4).  It is highly recommended that health care providers be trained in the use of an aed (module 5). Final authorization to perform defibrillation, however, is a function of local legislative health authorities it is anticipated in the future aed training will be required skill for bls for healthcare providers course.  Written & practical eval are required.

Course will be held at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, in the Eberly Building Room 5- from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. This course meets occupational requirements for CPR certification and includes a skill and written exam. Course fee does not represent income to the American Heart Association
