Course Description

You enjoyed our beginner class or have been doing metalsmithing on your own and are ready to learn more advanced skills. This class is designed for those who are no longer beginners and want to build their skills. In this class, students will learn advanced jewelry fabrication and soldering techniques, stone setting, and torch enameling. Knowledge of jeweler’s saw and basic metalsmithing techniques a must. Information and a link to purchase a small tool kit will be provided upon registration (approx. $70) for those without the required tools. Basic materials will be provided and are included in the cost of the class. At this stage, students may purchase their own materials if they wish.

Date: Thursdays, September 12 – October 17, 2024
Time:  5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Locations:  Penn State DuBois
Students will be required to purchase or bring a small tool kit. A link to purchase a kit will be provided upon registration (approx. $70.) for those without tools. Basic materials will be provided and are included in the cost of the class. Participants will create two-three pieces of finished jewelry. Potentials projects include pendants, brooches, or rings.
