Gerontology - Understanding geriatric needs, normal adult development and aging, aging in place, suicide, substance abuse in older adults, appropriate sexual behavior, death/dying, end-of-life issues, age discrimination, elder care payment restitution act, characteristics and symptoms of depression & loneliness, awareness of special needs and accommodations that allow us to live a healthy lifestyle.

Upon registration, you will receive a link via email and login directions to the online classroom and materials the Friday before the first session of class. All course materials are provided electronically. Printed copies are available upon request with an additional fee. All classes are on Zoom except for the Exam and Demonstration for CPR. These are held at Penn State Beaver in Monaca Pennsylvania. Program time is Tuesday or Thursday evening and every other Saturday. You will need to login to Zoom with a computer that has video and audio capability. You will need to have your camera on and appear in view for attendance requirements. You are not permitted to work or be involved in any other activity while in class. Attendance will also be verified by reviewing Zoom registration.
