Course Description

Spanish Fundamentals for Today’s Workplace is designed to help learners develop practical language skills for a variety of workplaces like schools, manufacturing facilities, health care settings and more. Students will learn essential vocabulary, basic grammar, and conversational phrases needed to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking colleagues, clients, and customers. Students will not become fluent in 5 weeks instead will create a solid starting-point to launch immediate language use and further language study.

Spanish Fundamentals for Today’s Workplace 

This course emphasizes real-world scenarios such as greeting others, asking and answering simple questions, giving directions, handling customer service interactions, and discussing common workplace topics. 
By the end of the course, students will be able to understand and use basic Spanish in everyday professional situations, improving both confidence and workplace collaboration

Dates:  Tuesdays, September 15, 2026 – October 13, 2026
(This 10-hour course is delivered in five sessions.)
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Spanish Fundamentals for Today’s Workplace will be taught using Zoom technology. Zoom instructions will be provided prior to the start of the program

Cancellations:  If you need to cancel your registration, we require written notification via email to scrantonoutreach@psu.edu a minimum of seven (7) days before the start of the course.  All refunds are subject to a $35.00 administrative fee.  Refunds will not be issued after the start of the course.  The University reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances.
